C.L.O.W.N.S. stands for Creating Learning
Opportunities in WesterN Somerset and was
created in April 1995. We currently operate a service
for parents/carers and children in rural isolation
and areas of need within the West Somerset
District Council area

C.L.O.W.N.S. is situated at:

Minehead Eye, Mart Road, Minehead, Somerset TA24 5BJ

We provide a professional Outreach family support service for pre-school children and their parents/carers. The Outreach van visits families with children under five living in isolated rural/urban areas. We offer support and a listening ear in our hourly sessions and can visit initially for a 12 week period. No problem is too small. The van has a small play area for children and a space for you to sit and relax. Other support services are able to access the van according to need. If you feel this service could help please get in touch.

C.L.O.W.N.S. provides Tumbling Toddlers activity with structured, themed sessions for pre-school children in village halls, children's centres, nurseries, pre-schools and parent/carer toddler groups.

C.L.O.W.N.S. provides a mobile and static Toy Library offering a large selection of toys.

We also offer a Scrapstore by forging a partnership between C.L.O.W.N.S. and local businesses, salvaging their clean and safe materials to meet the creative needs of groups and families.

C.L.O.W.N.S. Playbus visits different rural villages each week for 2 hourly sessions during term time. Parents and carers are welcomed aboard with their children to have fun and activities include various crafts, singing and storytime. The bus carries information regarding a range of related services and maximises the impact of visits by working with other agencies who require rural community access.

As well as the services described on this page, C.L.O.W.N.S. also provides much more. Click on the buttons on the left for full details of Scrapstore, Resource Boxes, Craft Days and Messy Play (C.L.O.W.N.S. Fun) and Summer Playschemes.
